Sarina Wiegman has announced her 23-player squad for the UEFA Women's Euro 2025 in Switzerland, where the Lionesses will be defending their title. The squad is a mix of experienced players, including 13 who were part of the victorious 2022 team, and seven players set to make their major tournament debuts.

Goalkeepers The goalkeeping options include Hannah Hampton (Chelsea), who has seemingly usurped Mary Earps as the number one. Khiara Keating (Manchester City) and Anna Moorhouse (Orlando Pride) provide further options in this position.

Defenders The defensive lineup features Lucy Bronze (Chelsea), a seasoned player set for her seventh tournament appearance for the Lionesses. Leah Williamson (Arsenal) returns to captain the team after missing the World Cup due to injury. Jess Carter (Gotham FC), Niamh Charles (Chelsea), Alex Greenwood (Manchester City), Maya Le Tissier (Manchester United), Esme Morgan (Washington Spirit), and Lotte Wubben-Moy (Arsenal) complete the defensive options. Millie Bright's absence due to prioritizing her well-being leaves a gap in central defense. Greenwood is a likely replacement, with Morgan, Carter and Wubben-Moy also in contention.

Midfielders The midfield comprises Keira Walsh (Chelsea), Georgia Stanway (Bayern Munich), Ella Toone (Manchester United), Grace Clinton (Manchester United), and Jess Park (Manchester City).

Forwards In attack, Alessia Russo is expected to lead the line, with Aggie Beever-Jones and Michelle Agyemang providing competition. Lauren Hemp (Manchester City), Lauren James (Chelsea), Chloe Kelly (Arsenal), and Beth Mead (Arsenal) offer further options in the forward positions. Lauren James has recovered from a recent injury. Michelle Agyemang is a relatively new addition to the squad.

** дебютанты** Seven players are in line to make their major tournament debut for England: Michelle Agyemang, Aggie Beever-Jones, Grace Clinton, Khiara Keating, Maya Le Tissier, Anna Moorhouse, and Jess Park.

Key Absences The squad announcement followed the retirements of key players Mary Earps and Fran Kirby, as well as Millie Bright's withdrawal. These three were ever-present when England secured their first major silverware at the home Euros in 2022.

Wiegman acknowledged the difficulty in selecting the final squad, stating, "This group is a very well-balanced mix of players with multiple tournaments on their CVs and also those that will make their tournament debuts... At the same time, I do feel for those that have just missed out. I can only name 23, but there are more players who have been so important to us on our journey to Switzerland. We would not be here without them".

The Lionesses will face France, Netherlands and Wales in the group stage of the tournament.
