Dani Carvajal has declared himself ready to return to action for Real Madrid, viewing the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup as a significant challenge in his recovery. The veteran defender, who has been sidelined for nearly nine months due to a severe triple knee injury, including a torn ACL, is determined to contribute to the team's quest for global glory in the United States.

Carvajal's journey back to fitness has been arduous, but he has maintained a positive outlook throughout the process. "I've faced it from day one, knowing I had a long-term injury and you have to go through phases little by little and not rush, which is the most important thing," Carvajal stated. He acknowledged the mental challenges of being injured but emphasized the importance of staying positive and focused on recovery.

His return comes at a significant time for Real Madrid, as they prepare for their last 16 clash with Juventus on July 1 in the Club World Cup. Carvajal expressed his eagerness to be involved, saying, "I feel very good and I'm already back with the group. I don't know if I'll be in the squad vs. Juventus, on the bench at the manager's disposal. But, I'm very happy".

Despite previous reports suggesting that the Real Madrid medical staff were hesitant to risk him, Carvajal has remained steadfast in his desire to participate in the tournament. He feels he is ready to compete and give his all for the team. "It's been almost nine months and I'm ready to compete. I know when they let me go, I'm going to give 100%. I'm not afraid or lacking confidence," he affirmed.

Carvajal recognizes that he needs to regain his competitive rhythm, but he is not afraid to put in the work. He has been training with the team for two weeks and feels that he is getting his "spark" back. "What I do notice is the need for a competitive rhythm. I've been training with the team for two weeks and you can feel that spark, but I'm not afraid to put my foot in it, I've overcome that," he explained.

Under new coach Xabi Alonso, Carvajal is prepared to play wherever he is needed. He praised Alonso's tactical flexibility and expressed his willingness to contribute in any role. "The coach gives the team lots of versatility, with Tchouameni's position between the two centre backs. I've played centre back, left back and as a winger. I'm always available to do what the coach asks," Carvajal said.

Carvajal's return provides a significant boost to Real Madrid's squad as they aim to win the Club World Cup. He is eager to add to his already impressive trophy collection and continue making history with the club. "My goal is to keep rewriting the history books at this club and lifting silverware. I'm fully focused on helping the team do just that," he stated.

However, Carvajal may face competition for his starting spot from Trent Alexander-Arnold. His confidence remains high. "I know myself and I know that if they bring me on, I'll give 100% out there. All out. No fear, confidence is sky high. This is all behind me now".
