A dark cloud has descended over Bayern Munich's Club World Cup campaign as their star midfielder, Jamal Musiala, suffered a horrific leg injury during their quarter-final match against Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). The incident occurred late in the first half of the match held in Atlanta.

The 22-year-old Musiala, a key player for both Bayern Munich and the German national team, was chasing a loose ball in PSG's attacking box when he collided with PSG's goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma. Donnarumma dived for the ball and unfortunately landed on Musiala's left leg. The immediate aftermath of the collision was distressing, with Musiala's left ankle appearing to be badly injured and "dangling to the side".

Players from both teams reacted with visible concern, with many holding their heads in disbelief at the severity of the injury. The referee immediately called for the medical team to bring a stretcher onto the field, and Musiala received medical treatment as the teams headed into the tunnel for halftime. Donnarumma also appeared visibly shaken by the incident. Replays of the injury were not shown on the big screens at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

The extent of Musiala's injury is still unknown, but there are fears that he may have broken his ankle. This injury is a significant blow to Bayern Munich, as Musiala is considered one of their best players. He has been in outstanding form this season, scoring 20 goals, including 12 in the Bundesliga and three in the Champions League. At the time of the injury, he had already scored three goals in the Club World Cup, just one behind the leading scorers. Losing Musiala for an extended period would be a major setback for Bayern's aspirations in both domestic and international competitions.
