Paris Saint-Germain secured a dramatic 2-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the Club World Cup quarter-finals, advancing to a semi-final clash against either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund. The match, held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, was filled with incident, including a serious injury to Bayern's Jamal Musiala and two late red cards for PSG.

The first half was an energetic affair, with both sides creating opportunities. Bayern Munich had a goal disallowed for offside when Dayot Upamecano's header was chalked off. PSG's goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, made crucial saves, denying Michael Olise and Aleksandar Pavlovic. Bayern's goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, was also called into action, thwarting Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The first half ended on a sour note when Musiala collided with Donnarumma, resulting in a suspected broken ankle for the young German star.

The second half saw PSG break the deadlock in the 78th minute through Desire Doue, who flashed a shot into the bottom corner. Soon after, PSG found themselves down to nine men after two late red cards. Despite being short-handed, PSG extended their lead in stoppage time when Ousmane Dembele scored, assisted by Achraf Hakimi. Bayern Munich had a late goal from Harry Kane ruled out for offside. In the dying seconds, Bayern were initially awarded a penalty, but the decision was overturned after a video review.

PSG's captain, Marquinhos, praised the team's resilience in seeing out the game. Bayern Munich, despite dominating for large portions of the match, were unable to convert their chances. The match was Bayern's final match of the Club World Cup campaign. Notably, Bayern had won six of their last seven matches against PSG, including the previous four, and had kept clean sheets in all those four games.

The victory sends PSG into the Club World Cup semi-finals, where they will face either Real Madrid or Borussia Dortmund in New Jersey on Wednesday.
