The Indian recurve teams, both men's and women's, faced early exits at the Archery World Cup Stage 4 in Madrid, Spain. This final stage of the Archery World Cup series is taking place in Madrid from July 8 to 13 and features 336 archers from 49 countries.

The Indian squad for the Madrid Archery World Cup 2025 includes both seasoned archers and fresh faces. Veteran archer Tarundeep Rai made a comeback to the recurve squad. The men's recurve team consists of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Neeraj Chauhan, Rahul, and Tarundeep Rai. The women's recurve team includes Deepika Kumari, Ankita Bhakat, and teenagers Gatha Khadake and Sharvari Shende. Gatha and Sharvari also are slated to represent India at the upcoming 2025 World Archery Youth Championships.

The recurve team's performance in Madrid follows a mixed bag of results for India at the previous stages of the Archery World Cup. India won four medals at the first stage in Auburndale and seven medals in Shanghai. However, the team returned without any medals from the Stage 3 in Antalya.

While the recurve teams struggled, the compound archers have had a strong showing. Jyothi Surekha Vennam and Rishabh Yadav set a world record in the compound mixed team qualifying event. Jyothi and Rishabh shot a combined score of 1431, surpassing the previous record of 1429. India also secured top seedings in the men's and women's compound team events. The men's compound team includes Prathamesh Fuge, Priyansh, Aman Saini, and Rishabh Yadav, while the women's team features Parneet Kaur, Prithika Pradeep, Chikitha Taniparthi, and Jyothi Surekha Vennam.

The Archery World Cup Final is scheduled to take place in Nanjing in October. The final will feature the individual champions from each of the four World Cup stages.
