Chloe Kelly has expressed her elation and relief after England's dramatic 2-1 victory over Italy in the Euro 2025 semi-final, securing their place in the final. The Lionesses had to fight back from a goal down, with a late equalizer from Michelle Agyemang in stoppage time forcing the game into extra time. Kelly then scored the decisive goal in the dying minutes of extra time, converting the rebound after her penalty was saved.

"It feels unbelievable," Kelly told ITV Sport. "Such a great feeling. This team deserves nothing but that. Three finals on the bounce and we want more". She acknowledged the chaotic nature of the match and England's tendency to make things difficult for themselves. "We don't do things the easy way it seems in this tournament but we find a way to win," said defender Lucy Bronze.

Kelly, who came on as a substitute, emphasized the importance of the entire squad and their resilience. "I just try my best for the team," she said. "It wasn't supposed to go like that [the penalty] but obviously the keeper had done her homework. We go back to the drawing board and keep practicing those penalties. Luckily I got there for the tap-in".

The Lionesses have displayed remarkable resilience throughout the tournament, having come from behind in multiple games. In their quarter-final match against Sweden, they overcame a 2-0 deficit to win on penalties. This fighting spirit and never-say-die attitude have been key to their success. "This team fights back, we have that resilience," Kelly stated.

England's manager, Sarina Wiegman, praised Kelly for her ability to perform in crucial moments. Substitutes have played a pivotal role in England's journey to the final, with several goals coming from players off the bench. Agyemang's late equalizer against Italy was another example of the impact the substitutes have made.

Looking ahead to the final, Kelly emphasized the team's determination to win. "Three finals on the bounce but we want more," she declared. "We have the hope, we have the belief and we have the quality so we just need to keep at it, and keep working hard at training to make sure we're right next weekend," Kelly said.

England will face either Germany or Spain in the Euro 2025 final. The final will be held on Sunday.
