Former Colorado Avalanche forward Jimmy Vesey has signed a two-year contract with Geneve-Servette HC of Switzerland's National League. The team announced the signing on Monday. Vesey, who is 32 years old, is heading overseas after spending nine seasons in the NHL.

Vesey split the 2024-25 season between the New York Rangers and the Colorado Avalanche. In 43 regular-season games, he recorded five goals and three assists, along with 36 shots on net and 32 hits. He did not appear in any playoff games for the Avalanche during their 2025 Stanley Cup run.

Prior to joining the Avalanche, Vesey had two stints with the New York Rangers (2016-2019 and 2022-2025) and also played for the Buffalo Sabres, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, and New Jersey Devils. Throughout his NHL career, Vesey has played in 657 games, totaling 203 points.

Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on May 26, 1993, Vesey was drafted by the Nashville Predators in the third round (66th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. However, he chose not to sign with the Predators and instead became a free agent after a successful college career at Harvard University.

Vesey's college career was highlighted by winning the Hobey Baker Award in 2016, given to the top collegiate player in the NCAA. During his time at Harvard, he recorded 144 points (80 goals, 64 assists) in 128 games. He was also named ECAC Player of the Year after the 2014–15 season.

Before his NHL career, Vesey played in the EJHL, where he was an All-Star, Most Valuable Player, and Offensive Player of the Year. He also led the league in goals (48) and points (91).

Internationally, Vesey has represented the United States. He won a bronze medal at the World Championship.

Jimmy Vesey's move to Geneve-Servette HC marks a new chapter in his hockey career. After establishing himself as a solid bottom-six forward in the NHL, he will now bring his experience and skill set to the Swiss National League. While he reportedly considered offers from the KHL, he ultimately decided to move to Western Europe.
