Taichi Kho has put himself in a strong position to contend for the title at the Shinhan Donghae Open in Korea, propelled by a third-round 66. Kho's impressive performance moved him to 12-under par, just two strokes behind the leader, Kazuki Higa.

The Hong Kong golfer attributed his success to a relaxed mindset, focusing on "having fun" on the course. Kho's positive attitude seems to be paying dividends, as he navigated the challenging Jack Nicklaus Golf Club with remarkable composure. He had previously struggled in Korea but entered this week's competition buoyed by a second-place finish at the Mandiri Indonesia Open.

Kho's third round was characterized by a strong finish, with four birdies in his last five holes. The only blemish on his card was a bogey on the par-4 16th. Kho's accuracy was also a key factor, as he only missed three greens in regulation throughout the round.

Bjorn Hellgren had taken the lead after the second round of the Shinhan Donghae Open with a sparkling 64. However, Kazuki Higa now leads the field.

The Shinhan Donghae Open is being held at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club. The tournament is a significant event on the Asian Tour. In May 2025, the Kolon Korea Open Golf Championship took place at La Vie Est Belle, Dunes Course. Sadom Kaewkanjana won the Kolon Korea Open. Taichi Kho finished in a tie for fourth place at the Kolon Korea Open.

The Korea Open Tennis Championships Presented by Motiva is also taking place in Seoul from September 13–21, 2025.
