HS Prannoy and Ayush Shetty are set to lead the Indian contingent at the Korea Open Super 500 badminton tournament, which commences on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, in Suwon. The event boasts a prize pool of $475,000.

Prannoy, currently ranked 33rd in the world, is still searching for consistency this season. The former world No. 6 aims to clinch his first BWF World Tour title since the Malaysia Masters in 2023. He was last seen at the Hong Kong Open, where Lakshya Sen defeated him in the round of 16.

Ayush Shetty will also be participating in the men's singles draw. Earlier in September, Shetty had a strong showing in Hong Kong, where he beat World No. 9 Kodai Naraoka and advanced to the quarterfinals. He also competed in the China Masters, pushing Chou Tien Chen to three games in the opening round.

Kiran George is another player who will be participating in the men's singles. Tharun Mannepalli and Meiraba Luwang Maisnam will compete in the qualifiers.

Anupama Upadhyay will be the sole Indian representative in the women's singles category after PV Sindhu's withdrawal. Mohit and Lakshita Jaglan will represent India in the mixed doubles category.

Several top Indian players will be absent from the Korea Open, including Lakshya Sen, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy, and Chirag Shetty. Satwik and Chirag won the Korea Open men's doubles title in 2023. Kidambi Srikanth also withdrew from the tournament.

The Korea Open 2025 matches will be live-streamed on the Badminton World Federation's official YouTube channel, BWF TV.

The schedule for the 2025 Korea Open is as follows: * Round of 32: Tuesday and Wednesday, September 23 & 24 * Round of 16: Thursday, September 25 * Quarterfinals: Friday, September 26 * Semifinals: Saturday, September 27 * Finals: Sunday, September 28

The men's and women's singles winners will receive $35,625, while the winners of the doubles events will be awarded $37,525. Runners-up in all five categories will receive $18,050.
