Smriti Mandhana's Father's Heart Attack Leads to Postponement of Her Wedding with Palash Muchhal

Smriti Mandhana's Wedding to Palash Muchhal Postponed After Father Suffers Heart Attack

The highly anticipated wedding of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and music composer Palash Muchhal has been postponed indefinitely due to a sudden and distressing family emergency. Srinivas Mandhana, Smriti's father, suffered a heart attack on Sunday, November 23, 2025, while preparations for the wedding were underway at the Mandhana Farm House in Samdol, Sangli.

According to Smriti's manager, Tuhin Mishra, Srinivas Mandhana fell ill while having breakfast. His condition worsened, prompting the family to rush him to the hospital. He is currently under observation. Initial reports suggest that Mr. Mandhana experienced a minor heart attack. However, other reports indicate his health condition worsened. An ambulance was called to the wedding venue following the medical emergency.

Smriti Mandhana, who is known to be very close to her father, has decided to postpone the wedding until his health improves. Mishra stated that the family is in shock and wants Srinivas to recover fully before proceeding with the ceremony. Doctors have advised that he will need to remain in the hospital for the time being.

The wedding was set to take place on November 23, 2025, in an intimate ceremony in Sangli. Smriti was expected to wear an Anita Dongre designed ensemble, complemented by traditional diamond and polki jewelry.

Speculation about the wedding arose after Palash Muchhal playfully hinted at the engagement, mentioning that Smriti would soon become the "daughter-in-law of Indore". Smriti later confirmed the engagement with a video of her dancing with teammates to the song 'Samjho Ho Hi Gaya' and showcasing her engagement ring.

Smriti Mandhana enjoys a strong financial profile, with an estimated net worth of Rs 30–35 crore earned through international cricket, leagues, WPL, BBL, domestic matches, and major brand endorsements. Her soon-to-be sister-in-law, Palak Muchhal, reportedly holds a net worth of $2–5 million, largely from live stage shows, while her husband Mithoon also owns assets worth $5 million.

The Mandhana family has requested privacy and prayers for Srinivas's speedy recovery. The wedding celebrations, which had already garnered attention on social media with music, dance, and family rituals, have been put on hold. The family has also postponed a scheduled memorial service due to the unavoidable circumstances.
