RALEIGH, N.C. — Seth Jarvis propelled the Carolina Hurricanes to a decisive 5-1 victory over the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night, securing a hat trick in a game that showcased the talents of two rookie goaltenders. Jarvis, a native of Winnipeg, completed his hat trick with an empty-net goal with just over a minute remaining in the game, contributing to a four-goal surge by the Hurricanes in the final 8 1/2 minutes.
The Hurricanes' win marked their first in three games, while the Jets suffered their fourth consecutive loss, their worst losing streak of the season. Goalie Brandon Bussi recorded 12 saves for the Hurricanes, improving his record to 6-1. Meanwhile, Jets goalie Thomas Milic, in his NHL debut, stopped 30 shots.

Jarvis then scored his second goal just 47 seconds later. Alexander Nikishin also contributed to the scoring. Gostisbehere and Andrei Svechnikov each provided two assists in the game.
With this performance, Seth Jarvis now leads the Hurricanes with 15 goals. The Hurricanes previously defeated the Jets 4-3 on November 21st.
