Malick Thiaw scores twice as Newcastle dominates Everton in a convincing victory at St. James' Park.

Newcastle United delivered a resounding performance at Hill Dickinson Stadium, dismantling Everton 4-1 in a match that saw Malick Thiaw shine with two goals. The victory marked Newcastle's first Premier League away win of the season.

The Magpies exploded out of the gate, with Thiaw scoring the fastest goal of the Premier League season after just 55 seconds. From a Lewis Miley corner, Thiaw rose above Everton's defenders to head the ball past Jordan Pickford. This early goal surpassed Phil Foden's previous record for the fastest goal this season.

Everton struggled to respond, and Newcastle extended their lead in the 25th minute. A deflected shot fell to Lewis Miley, whose strike squirmed through Pickford's grasp. Newcastle continued to dominate, with Lewis Hall hitting the crossbar before Nick Woltemade added a third goal just before halftime, further demoralizing the home side. Anthony Elanga assisted Woltemade, who chipped the ball over Pickford.

The second half began with Everton making a substitution, but Newcastle remained in control. In the 58th minute, Thiaw scored again with another header from a Lewis Hall cross, securing his brace and making it 4-0. Thiaw became the first Newcastle player to score two headers in a league game since Georginio Wijnaldum in October 2015.

Everton managed a consolation goal in the 69th minute when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored from a James Tarkowski pass. Earlier, Thierno Barry had a goal disallowed for handball.

Newcastle's dominant performance saw them rise to 11th in the league standings. The victory was inspired by Thiaw, who not only scored twice but also contributed defensively with five clearances. Lewis Miley also had a strong performance with a goal and an assist.

Everton's performance was lackluster, with several players receiving low ratings. Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford in particular, had a difficult game. The absence of Idrissa Gueye was felt in midfield, and the defense struggled to contain Newcastle's attack. This defeat marks the first time Everton have conceded four goals in a Premier League home game since April 2023, when they also lost 4-1 to Newcastle.
