A blistering start saw Fulham secure a 2-1 victory against a struggling Tottenham Hotspur side at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday. Kenny Tete's early deflected strike and a stunning curler from Harry Wilson within the first six minutes set the tone for Fulham's first away win of the Premier League season.
The Cottagers capitalized on a disastrous start from Spurs, who were booed off by their own supporters after conceding two early goals. Kenny Tete opened the scoring in the 4th minute with a 20-yard effort that took a wicked deflection off Destiny Udogie. Just two minutes later, Harry Wilson doubled Fulham's advantage with a spectacular curling shot from distance, punishing a glaring error from Spurs goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario. Vicario's mis-kick landed at the feet of Josh King, who passed to Wilson, leaving the keeper stranded as Wilson guided his lob home.
Fulham could have further extended their lead in the first half, with Samuel Chukwueze hitting the post. Micky van de Ven also made a crucial goal-saving tackle to deny Chukwueze after he rounded Vicario.
Spurs emerged with renewed purpose after the interval, and Mohammed Kudus halved the deficit in the 59th minute with a powerful half-volley. However, despite creating several chances, including a header from Lucas Bergvall that was cleared off the line by Raúl Jiménez and a backheel attempt from Randal Kolo Muani, Tottenham were unable to find an equalizer.
The defeat leaves Tottenham without a Premier League home win since the opening weekend of the season and increases the pressure on manager Thomas Frank. Spurs have now lost three consecutive matches. They have only won three of their last 13 games in all competitions, slumping to 10th place in the Premier League.
Fulham, on the other hand, secured their first victory at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and their first away win of the season. Despite remaining in 15th place, the win moves them up to 17 points, closing the gap between the two teams to just one point. Marco Silva, in his 200th game in charge, guided his team to a vital victory.
The result marks Fulham's first win at Tottenham since 2013. The early goals from Tete and Wilson proved decisive, earning Fulham a valuable three points and heaping more misery on a struggling Spurs side.
