Rebecca Lowe, the esteemed host and presenter, is joining FOX Sports' broadcast team for the FIFA World Cup 2026. Brad Zager, the President of Production & Operations/Executive Producer at FOX Sports, made the announcement. Zager expressed his excitement, stating that Lowe is a world-class presenter and one of the most respected voices in global soccer. He also acknowledged NBC Sports for allowing Lowe the opportunity to cover the tournament with FOX.
Lowe has been a prominent figure in sports broadcasting for many years. Since 2013, she has been the host of NBC Sports' Premier League coverage and has covered six Olympic Games and the Kentucky Derby. Her broadcasting career began in 2002 with the BBC in the UK, where she contributed to soccer programming and covered events such as the FIFA World Cup 2006 and UEFA Women's EURO 2005. She also co-hosted ESPN U.K.'s Premier League coverage and ESPN's U.S. presentation of the FIFA Women's World Cup Germany 2011 and UEFA EURO 2012. In May 2012, Lowe became the first woman on British television to present the FA Cup Final live from Wembley Stadium.
"To have the chance to host the FIFA World Cup – the greatest event on Earth – in my adopted home country and help to continue to spread the word of the beautiful game across the U.S. is truly a dream," said Lowe. She expressed her gratitude to both NBC and FOX and shared her excitement for the tournament.
According to The Athletic, Lowe will continue her full-time role with NBC while also working on the World Cup next summer. NBC reportedly granted FOX Sports permission to allow Lowe to participate in its World Cup coverage.
While Rob Stone will continue his role as the primary soccer studio host for FOX, Lowe is expected to lead a secondary studio team. Lowe effectively fills the role previously held by Kate Scott, who is now the lead presenter of CBS Sports' UEFA Champions League coverage.
FOX Sports will broadcast all 104 matches live on FOX and FS1, with every match streaming on FOX One and the FOX Sports App. The 69-match presentation on FOX is the most ever in broadcast television history, more than doubling the number of tournament matches broadcast in 2022. The FIFA World Cup 2026 will be the first tournament hosted by three countries: the United States, Mexico, and Canada. The complete FIFA World Cup 2026 broadcast team will be revealed closer to the tournament.
