Prices ranging from ₹1,200 to ₹18,000 seemingly did little to deter fans eager to witness the former India captain's prowess.

The anticipation was palpable at the city's airport two days before the match, as enthusiastic supporters gathered to welcome the Indian team, even enduring multiple flight delays.

IndiGo, a major domestic carrier, has been grappling with substantial flight delays and cancellations due to a crew shortage. On Wednesday, reports indicated that only 35% of IndiGo flights operated on time, with nearly 200 cancellations reported across various airports. For example, one traveler's IndiGo flight scheduled to leave at 10:05 pm on Wednesday was cancelled. The traveler was only notified once they arrived at the airport around 6:30 pm. With no seats available on other airlines, the traveler was forced to take a flight with a two-hour layover or wait 24 hours for the next direct flight and buy a fresh ticket for Friday for Rs 24,000.
Despite the travel chaos, the allure of witnessing Kohli in action proved too strong for fans, effectively overshadowing their anger and inconvenience.
