Guwahati Masters Badminton: All-Indian Men's Final Guarantees Gold for Either Mithun Manjunath or Sanskar Saraswat.

Guwahati, December 6, 2025 – India is guaranteed a gold medal in the men's singles badminton event at the Guwahati Masters Super 100 as Mithun Manjunath and Sanskar Saraswat have both advanced to the final. The two Indians secured their places in the summit clash with impressive performances in their respective semi-final matches.

Mithun Manjunath faced off against fellow countryman Tushar Suveer in a tightly contested semi-final. Mithun emerged victorious with a score of 22-20, 21-8 in 42 minutes. Sanskar Saraswat, 19, displayed composure and skill to overcome Indonesia's Dendi Triansyah in straight games, 21-19, 21-19, in a 39-minute match.

The men's singles final between Manjunath and Saraswat promises to be an exciting affair, with both players eager to clinch the title.

In other events, Tanvi Sharma continued her impressive run at the Guwahati Masters, reaching the women's singles final. Sharma, a World Junior Championship silver medalist, stunned third seed Hina Akechi of Japan with a 21-18, 21-16 victory in 42 minutes. Sharma avenged her loss from last week's Syed Modi International semi-final against Akechi. Sharma will now face Tung Ciou-Tong of Chinese Taipei in the final. Tung Ciou-Tong defeated Ashmita Chaliha in a tough semi-final, 12-21, 21-17, 21-14. This marks Tanvi's second final of the year, as she chases her first senior international BWF World Tour title.

Adding to India's success, the men's doubles pair of Sai Pratheek and Pruthvi Krishnamurthy Roy also advanced to the final. The top-seeded Indian pair defeated Indonesia's Prasetya Anselmus and Ramadhan Pulung 21-16, 22-20 in 38 minutes. They are set to compete against Malaysia's Aaron Tai and Kang Khai Xing for the title.

However, not all Indian players had a successful day. The top-seeded mixed doubles pair, Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Shivani Gadde, narrowly missed out on a place in the final, losing to Thailand's Tanadon Punpanichi and Fungfa Korpthammakit 15-21, 21-19, 17-21. In women's doubles, Ashwini Bhat and Shikha Gautam were defeated by Malaysia's Ong Xin Yee and Carmen Ting with a score of 21-14, 21-10.

The Guwahati Masters 2025, officially known as the Yonex-Sunrise Guwahati Masters 2025 due to sponsorship reasons, is being held at the Sarju Sarai Indoor Sports Complex in Guwahati, Assam, India, from December 2 to 7, 2025. The tournament is organized by the Badminton Association of India, with sanction from the Badminton World Federation (BWF). The total prize pool for the tournament is US$110,000.
