Mohamed Salah's Scathing Liverpool Interview: Explosive Carragher Call-Out Reveals Underlying Tensions at Anfield

Liverpool's star forward, Mohamed Salah, has ignited a fresh wave of speculation surrounding his future at Anfield after an explosive interview where he seemingly called out club legend Jamie Carragher. The Egyptian international voiced his frustrations after being relegated to the bench in recent Premier League fixtures, including being an unused substitute in the 3-3 draw against Leeds United.

Salah, 33, has found himself on the fringes of the starting eleven in recent games, a stark contrast to his usual prominent role. This has triggered a series of comments that suggest a growing discontent with his current situation under manager Arne Slot.

"After what I have done for the club it really hurts. You can imagine, really," Salah stated, referencing his contributions to Liverpool's success over the years. He further added, "I know the club too well, I have been here many years. Tomorrow Carragher is going to go for me again and again and that's fine".

The apparent reference to Carragher stems from previous criticism leveled at Salah, with the former Liverpool defender suggesting that the Egyptian's "legs have gone" following a 4-1 defeat to PSV Eindhoven in the Champions League. Salah also alluded to perceived media hypocrisy, comparing his situation to that of Harry Kane during a goal drought, implying that he feels unfairly targeted. "If I am somewhere else, everybody would go to the media and defend the players. I am the only one in this situation," Salah claimed.

Salah didn't hold back in expressing his disappointment and feelings of being undermined by the club. "It seems like the club has thrown me under the bus," he stated. "That's how I feel it. Someone wants me to get all the blame". He also suggested that promises made to him during the summer transfer window have not been kept, further fueling his frustration. "The club promised me a lot in summer. Now, I'm on bench, so I can say they haven't kept those promises," Salah said.

Adding fuel to the fire, Salah revealed that his relationship with manager Arne Slot has deteriorated. "I used to have a good relationship [with Slot]. Now we don't have any relationship and I don't know why. [It] seems like someone does not want me in the club," he stated.

Salah even hinted at a potential departure from Liverpool, suggesting that the upcoming match against Brighton & Hove Albion could be his last at Anfield. "I called my mum and dad and told them to come to the Brighton game," he revealed. "I don't know if someone wants me out. Don't put words in my mouth, please, it's just how it feels," Salah added, while also clarifying that he doesn't regret signing his contract with Liverpool in April. "Even the question [does he regret signing the contract in April] hurts, as I will never regret signing for this club. I thought I was signing and ending my career here. Now this is not according to the plan. In my head, why should it end this way?".

The interview has sent shockwaves through the Liverpool fanbase and the wider footballing world, leaving many to question Salah's future at the club. With tensions seemingly high between the player, the manager, and potentially figures within the club, it remains to be seen how this situation will unfold in the coming weeks.
