The National Basketball Association (NBA) and Budweiser are launching the first-ever BUDX NBA House in India, an immersive fan experience celebrating basketball, music, and culture. The event will take place on June 7 and 8 at DOME, SVP Stadium, in Mumbai, coinciding with the 2025 NBA Finals.
This two-day event, presented by Budweiser, will feature a dynamic mix of basketball-themed activities, live music performances, and interactive experiences. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet five-time NBA champion Derek Fisher and Naismith Basketball Hall of Famer Gary Payton, and take photos with the Larry O'Brien Trophy. The Sacramento Kings' mascot Slamson, the Kings Dancers, and the team's acrobatic dunk crew will also perform.
Rajah Chaudhry, Head of Strategy, NBA Asia and Country Head, NBA India, said the BUDX NBA House will be a must-visit destination for passionate NBA fans in India to celebrate their love of the game amid the excitement of the NBA Finals. Vineet Sharma, Vice President Marketing and Trade Marketing, AB InBev India, said Budweiser has always been at the forefront of cultural and entertainment experiences, and they are proud to associate with the NBA to bring the BUDX NBA House to India.
Derek Fisher, a point guard and shooting guard, played 18 seasons in the NBA, most of them with the Los Angeles Lakers. Drafted 24th overall by the Lakers in 1996, he won five NBA championships with the team in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2009, and 2010. Known for his leadership and clutch playmaking, Fisher also played for the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, Oklahoma City Thunder, and Dallas Mavericks. After retiring as a player, Fisher transitioned to coaching, including a stint as head coach of the New York Knicks.
Gary Payton, nicknamed "The Glove" for his defensive skills, was the second overall pick in the 1990 NBA Draft, selected by the Seattle SuperSonics. A point guard, he also played with the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Lakers, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat, winning an NBA championship with the Heat in 2006. Payton won a gold medal at the 1996 Olympic Games. He was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013. Payton is one of only two players to win the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award and is considered one of the most complete guards in NBA history.
The event will be produced and ticketed by District by Zomato, with support from partners including Brand USA, Emirates, and Visit California. BUDX NBA House promises to be a "full-court cultural storm," with a runway showcase that merges basketball and streetwear, meet-and-greets with NBA legends, and more.
