India clinched the Women's Tri-Series title in Colombo, Sri Lanka, with a dominant 97-run victory over the hosts on May 11, 2025. Smriti Mandhana's brilliant century and Sneh Rana's impressive bowling performance were instrumental in India's triumph.

India, after winning the toss and electing to bat, posted a formidable 342/7 in their 50 overs. The innings was built around Smriti Mandhana's magnificent 116 off 101 balls. Mandhana's knock included 15 fours and two sixes. She formed a solid 70-run opening stand with Pratika Rawal. After Rawal's dismissal for 30, Mandhana continued to dominate, forging a 120-run partnership with Harleen Deol. Mandhana was particularly strong in the middle overs, punishing the Sri Lankan bowlers and rotating the strike effectively. She reached her 11th ODI century with a hat-trick of boundaries.

Harleen Deol provided valuable support with a well-made 47. The Indian middle order also contributed significantly, with Harmanpreet Kaur (41) and Jemimah Rodrigues (44) adding quick runs to propel India's score. Amanjot Kaur and Deepti Sharma chipped in with useful cameos towards the end, ensuring India reached a massive total.

In response, Sri Lanka struggled to build momentum and were eventually bowled out for 245 in 48.2 overs. Sneh Rana was the pick of the Indian bowlers, taking 4 wickets for 38 runs. Amanjot Kaur also bowled well, claiming 3 wickets for 54 runs. Chamari Athapaththu (51) and Nilakshi de Silva (48) offered some resistance for Sri Lanka, but the required run rate kept climbing. Rana dismissed both set batters, further denting Sri Lanka's hopes.

Earlier in the tournament, India had finished top of the points table, with three wins from their four matches. Their only defeat came against Sri Lanka. The Tri-Series also included South Africa, who finished at the bottom of the table with one win. The series served as valuable preparation for the upcoming Women's Cricket World Cup.

Smriti Mandhana was named Player of the Match for her outstanding century. Sneh Rana was awarded Player of the Series for her consistent bowling performances, finishing as the top wicket-taker with 15 dismissals. Harmanpreet Kaur expressed her pride in the team's performance, highlighting the batting performance and Rana's bowling as positives.
