India had a successful Day 2 at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in Gumi, South Korea, highlighted by the nation successfully defending its 4x400m mixed relay gold. In addition to the relay victory, Tejaswin Shankar and Praveen Chithravel secured silver medals in their respective events, contributing to India's impressive medal haul.

The Indian 4x400m mixed relay team, consisting of Rupal Chaudhary, Santhosh Kumar Tamilarasan, Vishal TK, and Subha Venkatesan, showcased a dominant performance, clocking 3:18.12 to clinch the gold. Santhosh Kumar provided a strong start, handing over the baton to Rupal Chaudhary, who maintained the lead. Vishal TK further extended the advantage, allowing Subha Venkatesan, a returning member from the 2023 gold-winning team, to finish the race in style. China finished second with 3:20.52, while Sri Lanka claimed the bronze with 3:21.95. However, China and Sri Lanka were later disqualified, resulting in Kazakhstan receiving the silver medal and host Korea taking the bronze.

Tejaswin Shankar secured the silver medal in the decathlon event, amassing a total of 7618 points. He demonstrated consistency across the ten events, ultimately finishing behind Fei Xiang of China (7634 points) and ahead of Japan's Keisuke Okuda (7602 points). This medal marks Tejaswin's second decathlon medal at the Asian Athletics Championships, adding to his bronze from the 2023 edition. With this achievement, Tejaswin became the first Indian to win two decathlon medals in the Asian Athletics Championships.

Praveen Chithravel won a silver medal in the men's triple jump event. Chithravel's best effort of 16.90m in the third round was enough to secure the second position behind China's Zhu Yaming, who jumped 17.06m.
