The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has initiated a Skills Development Camp at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore, commencing on June 16, 2025. This 20-day camp is designed to fine-tune player readiness for a busy international schedule, including upcoming tours to Bangladesh and the West Indies. A total of 47 players have been invited to participate in the camp, which will be conducted in three phases.

The first batch, comprising 15 players, will train until June 21. This initial group includes notable names such as Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, Naseem Shah, Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, and Mohammad Nawaz, alongside promising young talents like Hasan Nawaz, Maaz Sadaqat, and Sufyan Moqim. Subsequent groups of 16 players each will take over from June 23–28 and June 30–July 5, respectively.

According to the PCB, the camp's central feature is one-on-one coaching sessions. These personalized interactions allow each player to engage directly with coaches, understand the finer details of their game, and identify areas needing attention. PCB aims to provide players clarity and tools to improve.

Director High-Performance Aqib Javed stated that the players were invited to the camp following detailed discussions with newly-appointed white-ball head coach Mike Hesson. He emphasized that this camp is an invaluable opportunity for players to take a brief pause from competitive cricket and focus on enhancing their fitness and refining key aspects of their game.

The daily schedule includes fitness and fielding sessions from 6 am to 8 am, followed by skill-based sessions (net practice) from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm at the LCCA Ground and NCA from Monday to Thursday. Match scenario-based training will be held at the LCCA Ground every Friday and Saturday.

Mike Hesson's vision and goals, which focus on consistency, adaptability, and match preparedness, will be communicated to the players during the camp. The PCB will also analyze the players' fitness and recent performances to align them with the new coaching direction.

In addition to player development, the Skills Development Camp will assist selectors in identifying players for the upcoming tours of the West Indies and Bangladesh, as well as the Pakistan Shaheens' tour of England. Pakistan will face Bangladesh in three T20Is before travelling to the West Indies for five matches in the same format.

Pakistan's official training camp for the senior men's team ahead of the Bangladesh and West Indies series will be held in Karachi, starting July 7. The camp for Pakistan Shaheens ahead of their tour to England will commence in Karachi from July 10. Further details, including the squad lists for both tours, will be announced soon.
