Nuno Espírito Santo has committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a new three-year contract, extending his stay at the City Ground until at least 2028. The announcement, made on June 21, 2025, solidifies the club's faith in the 51-year-old Portuguese coach, who has impressed since taking the helm in December 2023.

Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis has rewarded Nuno with the new deal following an exceptional 2024/25 season. Under Nuno's guidance, Nottingham Forest achieved their highest league finish in 30 years, securing a seventh-place spot in the Premier League and, remarkably, qualifying for European competition for the first time since the 1995-96 season. While the team flirted with Champions League qualification for much of the campaign, a slight stumble in the final stretch couldn't overshadow the overall progress made. They also reached the FA Cup semi-finals, before being knocked out by Manchester City.

Nuno's impact extended beyond league position. Last season saw Forest achieve historic victories, including away wins against both Liverpool and Manchester United, marking the first time in 55 and 30 years respectively that they had accomplished this feat. Furthermore, the team enjoyed their longest top-flight winning streak since 1967, showcasing Nuno's ability to galvanize the squad and instill a winning mentality. His outstanding performance throughout the season was further recognized with three Premier League Manager of the Month awards, more than any other manager in the 2024/25 campaign, with successes in October, December and March.

Beyond the pitch, Nuno has actively embraced the Nottingham community. He and owner Evangelos Marinakis welcomed the local learning disability team, Warriors United, to the City Ground, providing them with a unique behind-the-scenes experience during the First Team's open training session earlier in the season. Nuno also participated in Marinakis' "Home For Christmas" campaign, visiting Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre and attending a Christmas party to distribute presents to local children.

Expressing his delight at extending his tenure, Nuno Espírito Santo stated, "I am delighted to be able to continue our journey at this fantastic football Club. Since we arrived at Forest, we have worked extremely hard to create a special bond between the players, the fans and everyone at the Club, which helped us achieve great things last season. I would like to thank our owner, Mr. Marinakis, for his constant support and backing. It is important to me to share a strong relationship with our ownership and we have thoroughly enjoyed working together ever since I arrived at Forest. Now is the time to work harder than ever as we strive for more special memories together."

Evangelos Marinakis echoed this sentiment, stating, "Nuno has made a great impact and performed very well during his time with us so far. He has demonstrated that he maximises player performance and is an expert at developing players, whilst also embedding our young talent into the first team set-up. We enjoy a strong and solid relationship together and, above all, we share the same dream and ambition of writing a new history for Nottingham Forest, competing in the Premier League and in Europe and winning trophies for our great club!"

Nuno's arrival at Nottingham Forest in December 2023, following the departure of Steve Cooper, was initially aimed at securing the club's Premier League survival. He not only achieved that goal but has now elevated the team to new heights, instilling a sense of optimism and excitement among players and fans alike. With this new three-year deal, Nuno Espírito Santo is poised to lead Nottingham Forest into a promising future, both domestically and in European competitions.
