Nuno Espirito Santo has committed his future to Nottingham Forest by signing a contract extension that will keep him at the City Ground until the summer of 2028. The announcement comes after a successful 2024/25 season where he guided the club to their highest league finish in 30 years, securing a place in a European competition for the first time since 1995-96.

The Portuguese manager, who previously managed Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur, joined Forest in December 2023. He took over the team when they were in 17th place, just five points above the relegation zone. He successfully steered them away from relegation in the 2023/24 season. In the 2024/25 season, Nuno oversaw a remarkable campaign, leading Nottingham Forest to a seventh-place finish in the Premier League. This achievement marked their best top-flight performance in three decades. They narrowly missed out on a Champions League spot, finishing just one point behind fifth-placed Newcastle United, and will now compete in the Conference League's playoff round.

Nuno's impact extended beyond league performance. Under his guidance, Forest achieved their longest top-flight winning streak since 1967 and secured their first away wins against Liverpool and Manchester United in 55 and 30 years, respectively. His tactical prowess and motivational skills were further recognized as he won three Premier League Manager of the Month awards during the 2024/25 season, more than any other manager.

"I am delighted to be able to continue our journey at this fantastic football club," said Nuno after signing the new three-year deal. "Since we arrived at Forest, we have worked extremely hard to create a special bond between the players, the fans and everyone at the club, which helped us achieve great things last season. Now is the time to work harder than ever as we strive for more special memories together." He also expressed his gratitude to the club owner, Mr. Marinakis, for his constant support and backing, emphasizing the importance of their strong relationship.

Evangelos Marinakis, the Nottingham Forest owner, also shared his thoughts on the contract extension, stating, "Nuno has made a great impact and performed very well during his time with us so far. He has demonstrated that he maximises player performance and is an expert at developing players, whilst also embedding our young talent into the first team set-up. We enjoy a strong and solid relationship together and, above all, we share the same dream and ambition of writing a new history for Nottingham Forest, competing in the Premier League and in Europe and winning trophies for our great club!"

The extension of Nuno Espirito Santo's contract signals a period of stability and ambition for Nottingham Forest. With European competition on the horizon and a strong foundation built under Nuno's leadership, the club and its fans can look forward to an exciting future.
