Juventus delivered a commanding performance against Wydad Casablanca, securing a 4-1 victory in their FIFA Club World Cup 2025 Group G match held at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The win puts Juventus on the brink of qualifying for the knockout stages, showcasing their ambition in this expanded format of the tournament taking place in the United States.

The Italian giants asserted their dominance early in the game. Just six minutes into the match, a clever exchange between Kenan Yildiz and Khephren Thuram led to Yildiz bursting into the box. His subsequent shot took a deflection off Wydad defender Abdelmounaim Boutouil, resulting in an own goal that gave Juventus the lead.

Juventus continued to apply pressure, and in the 16th minute, Kenan Yildiz scored a stunning goal. After sustained pressure around the Wydad box, the ball fell to Yildiz on the edge of the area, and he unleashed an unstoppable strike that rifled into the top corner, extending Juventus's lead to 2-0.

To their credit, Wydad responded with determination. In the 25th minute, a precise through pass from Nordin Amrabat found Thembinkosi Lorch, who displayed great composure to lift the ball over the onrushing Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

The second half saw Juventus emerge with renewed intensity. Andrea Cambiaso nearly restored the two-goal cushion, but his effort struck the woodwork. However, in the 68th minute, Juventus finally found their third goal. Randal Kolo Muani played a through-ball to Kenan Yildiz, who demonstrated excellent composure to create space inside the box and slot the ball into the far corner, completing his brace and making it 3-1.

In the dying moments of the match, Juventus were awarded a penalty after Dušan Vlahović was brought down in the box. Vlahović stepped up and confidently converted the penalty, sealing a comprehensive 4-1 victory for Juventus.

Kenan Yildiz was the star of the show, with a deflected shot leading to an own goal and then scoring a sensational brace. His performance earned him the Player of the Match award. The victory sees Juventus move to the top of their group with six points. Barring an unexpected result in the match between Manchester City and Al Ain, Juventus will likely qualify for the knockout stages. They will face Manchester City in their final group game to determine who finishes top of the group. Meanwhile, Wydad Casablanca's chances of progressing in the tournament look slim after this defeat.
