Amidst the ongoing high-stakes Test series between India and England, veteran Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma has been spotted enjoying a well-deserved vacation in Italy with his wife, Ritika Sajdeh, and their daughter, Samaira. The family was seen strolling through the streets of Milan, taking in the sights and sounds of the vibrant city.
The images and videos of Sharma's Italian getaway have quickly gone viral on social media, with fans delighted to see the star cricketer unwinding and spending quality time with his family. Sharma, dressed casually in a black T-shirt, jeans, and grey sneakers, appeared relaxed and happy as he explored Milan with Ritika, who looked stylish in a black dress.
This vacation comes after Sharma's recent announcement of his retirement from Test cricket. Having played 67 Tests for India, amassing 4,301 runs at an average of 40.57, including 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries, Sharma has decided to focus on other formats of the game. At 38, he currently participates in One-Day International (ODI) matches and has no immediate cricket commitments until August.
Prior to his Italian vacation, Sharma had spent time in Abu Dhabi with his family following the conclusion of the IPL 2025 season. The break allows him to recharge and spend quality time with his loved ones before returning to cricket.
While Sharma enjoys his time off, the Indian team is currently engaged in a five-match Test series against England. They recently suffered a five-wicket defeat in the opening Test at Leeds. The second Test of the series is scheduled to begin on July 2 in Birmingham.
In addition to his vacation, Sharma recently reflected on India's victory over Pakistan and their 2024 T20 World Cup triumph in an interview. He highlighted India's defense of a modest total of 119 runs, successfully restricting Pakistan to 113/7 to secure a narrow six-run victory. Sharma emphasized that winning the World Cup after defeating Pakistan made the victory even more meaningful. He also lauded Hardik Pandya’s brilliance in the T20 World Cup 2024.
Sharma's next assignment with the Indian team is expected to be in August, when India faces Bangladesh in a three-match ODI series.
