The Chicago Blackhawks have officially revealed their centennial jersey, which the team will wear during all home games at the United Center throughout the 2025-26 season to commemorate their 100th year in the NHL. The jersey was unveiled on June 27, 2025, ahead of the NHL Draft.

According to the team, the sweater design "pays respect to the jersey's legendary composition, featuring subtle nods to the Blackhawks centennial milestone.” Blackhawks Chairman and CEO Danny Wirtz emphasized the enduring appeal of the team's classic look, stating, "The Blackhawks sweater has consistently been voted the best jersey in sports by players and fans alike. For our Centennial season, we wanted to honor that iconic symbol of Chicago's hockey heritage that has remained largely unchanged since 1955. While the classic elements of the jersey stay the same, thoughtful design details make this jersey unique – melding past and present while proving that the best traditions transcend trends."

Several design elements distinguish the centennial jersey. Gold trim outlines the Blackhawks crest and back numbers, drawing inspiration from the gold-trimmed sweaters of the team's early years. A centennial patch adorns the right shoulder, showcasing the number 100 centered with the team logo, while the opposite shoulder features the secondary logo in a refined metallic gold. The jersey also incorporates a vintage lace-up collar, adding a modern twist to the classic 1955 design. The words "Always an Original" are inscribed along the inside of the collar, a nod to the Blackhawks' status as one of the NHL's Original Six teams. Additionally, the inside hem displays the years of the franchise's six Stanley Cup victories.

The Blackhawks were awarded an NHL club on May 15, 1926, and played their first season in 1926-27 as one of only 10 teams in the league. The organization was also one of the six teams that continued through the 25 years between 1942 and 1967, solidifying their place as part of the Original Six.

The Blackhawks will also launch an official Blackhawks Hall of Fame as part of their 100th-anniversary celebration. This Hall of Fame will serve as the franchise's defining institution for honoring the extraordinary individuals who have shaped its century-long legacy, as chosen by the fans.

While the Blackhawks have been in a rebuilding phase and haven't reached the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the last five seasons, there is hope for improvement in 2025-26. Star forward Conor Bedard will be entering his third season in the league.
