Patrick Reed is in prime position to capture his first LIV Golf victory, taking a three-shot lead into the final round of LIV Golf Dallas. Reed carded a 4-under 68 on Saturday to reach 9-under 135 at Maridoe Golf Club.

The 2018 Masters champion is seeking his first win on the Saudi-funded tour. Reed, who boasts 11 top-5 finishes in his LIV Golf career, has yet to find the winner's circle in an individual event. A victory in Dallas would also mark Reed's first win in his home state of Texas since his junior golf days.

Reed's second round was highlighted by a remarkable par save on the par-5 13th hole, where he holed a 70-yard bunker shot.

Paul Casey and Abraham Ancer are tied for second place, three shots behind Reed. Casey shot a 5-under 67, while Ancer battled to a 3-under 69. David Puig is also in contention, tied for fourth and four shots back.

Reed's 4Aces GC also leads the team competition by four shots over Legion XIII. The 4Aces are seeking their first team victory since 2023.

Harold Varner III, Reed's 4Aces teammate and co-leader after the first round, struggled in his second round, carding a 72 to fall back into a tie for fifth.

Several other notable players are competing in LIV Golf Dallas. Bryson DeChambeau, who lives in Dallas and played college golf at SMU, has shot consecutive rounds of 72. Joaquin Niemann, the points leader coming off a victory at LIV Golf Virginia, opened with a 78. Brooks Koepka withdrew during the first round due to illness.

As Reed aims for his first LIV Golf victory, he also has his eye on potentially representing the United States in the Ryder Cup. Reed has stated how much it means to him to represent his country and that he is always thinking about trying to make every team. He has a career Ryder Cup record of 7-3-2 in three appearances.
