The Red Bull Ring, nestled in the Styrian mountains, has a rich history in Formula 1. The first race was held in 1964, and since 1970, the circuit has hosted the majority of the Austrian Grand Prix events. However, the track was dropped from the calendar in 2003 but was revived in 2014 thanks to investment from Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz. Mateschitz's vision and passion brought the race back to Grand Prix standards, transforming it into a favorite among the F1 community.

He stated that the new contract is of inestimable importance for the future, as the long-term security of the Austrian Grand Prix will trigger further investment in infrastructure and means tremendous added value for the Murtal region, for Styria, and for Austria.

The Austrian Grand Prix joins the Miami Grand Prix with contracts extending through 2041, demonstrating Formula 1's strategic approach to securing long-term relationships with key circuits. The extension also follows Canada's recent extension through 2035, indicating a broader trend of long-duration deals in Formula 1.
