Dominic Calvert-Lewin's nine-year tenure with Everton is coming to an end as the striker has announced his departure from the club upon the expiration of his contract on June 30. The 28-year-old confirmed his exit via social media, expressing his desire for a "new chapter" in his career.

Calvert-Lewin joined Everton in the summer of 2016 from Sheffield United for a reported fee of £1.5 million. During his time with the Toffees, he made 273 appearances in all competitions, scoring 71 goals. He also earned 11 international caps for England, netting four goals. His most prolific season was the 2020-21 campaign, where he scored 16 Premier League goals in 33 games. However, subsequent seasons were marred by injuries, limiting him to just 17 Premier League goals in the last four seasons, including three in 26 appearances in the most recent 2024-25 season.

In his farewell message, Calvert-Lewin expressed his gratitude to the club, its staff, his teammates, and the fans for their unwavering support throughout his time at Goodison Park. He acknowledged that Everton had been his home since he was 19 years old, shaping him both as a footballer and as a man.

Several clubs have been linked with a move for the free agent, including Newcastle United, Manchester United, West Ham United, and Leeds United.

  • Newcastle United: Calvert-Lewin's desire to play Champions League football could make Newcastle an attractive option. The Magpies may view him as a replacement for Callum Wilson or an alternative to other targets. However, first-team opportunities might be limited due to the presence of Alexander Isak.
  • Manchester United: Despite not being able to offer European football in the 2025-26 season, the Red Devils' stature could appeal to Calvert-Lewin. He could provide competition for Rasmus Hojlund and potentially Joshua Zirkzee.
  • West Ham United: The Hammers are reportedly searching for a new striker, and head coach Graham Potter is believed to be an admirer of Calvert-Lewin. The possibility of living in London and linking up with players like Jarrod Bowen and Lucas Paqueta could be enticing.
  • Leeds United: Newly promoted Leeds are looking to bolster their squad with Premier League-proven players, and have contacted Calvert-Lewin's representatives. However, their interest might depend on their pursuit of Lecce forward Nikola Krstovic.

Other clubs that have been mentioned as potential destinations for Calvert-Lewin include Arsenal, AC Milan, and Bayer Leverkusen.

Calvert-Lewin's experience, physical presence, and aerial ability make him a valuable asset for clubs seeking a proven Premier League striker, provided he can maintain his fitness.
