Harry Kane delivered a stellar performance, scoring twice as Bayern Munich overcame Flamengo 4-2 in a thrilling Club World Cup round of 16 match at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The victory propels the Bundesliga champions into the quarter-finals, where they are set for a blockbuster clash against Paris Saint-Germain.

Bayern Munich started strong, establishing a 2-0 lead within the first ten minutes. An own goal by Erick Pulgar, who deflected Joshua Kimmich's corner into his own net, opened the scoring in the sixth minute. Just three minutes later, Harry Kane doubled the lead with a clinical, long-range left-footed strike that clipped the post on its way in. This was Kane's 40th goal of the season.

Despite the early setback, Flamengo responded resiliently. Manuel Neuer made an outstanding save to deny Luiz Araújo, keeping Bayern's two-goal advantage intact. However, Flamengo's captain, Gerson, reduced the deficit with a powerful strike in the 33rd minute, punishing a momentary lapse in Bayern's concentration. Just before halftime, Leon Goretzka restored Bayern's two-goal lead with an expertly taken long-range effort.

The second half saw Flamengo continue to battle. In the 56th minute, Jorginho converted a penalty after Michael Olise was penalized for handling the ball in the box, once again narrowing Bayern's lead to a single goal. However, Harry Kane once again stepped up, displaying his accuracy and composure by scoring his second goal of the match. Kane received a pass from Kimmich and finished clinically from the edge of the box, curling a fine low shot into the bottom corner to make it 4-2.

Kane's performance was particularly significant as he had only scored one goal in the group stage, where Bayern plundered 12 goals. His two goals against Flamengo ensured Bayern's progression to the quarter-finals and ended Flamengo's 11-match unbeaten streak. Bayern Munich will now face Paris Saint-Germain in the quarter-finals in Atlanta. This match is a repeat of the 2020 UEFA Champions League final, which Bayern won 1-0.
