Australian spin maestro Nathan Lyon, currently 37, has declared he has no immediate plans to retire from Test cricket, expressing a burning desire to achieve a significant milestone before he calls time on his illustrious career: winning a Test series in India.

Lyon, who is Australia's most successful off-spinner with 556 wickets in 138 Tests, has had a remarkable career. He has taken 130 wickets against India in 32 Tests. Despite his individual success against the team, he has never been part of a victorious Australian team in an away series in India. Australia hasn't won a series in India since their triumph in 2004-05.

Lyon stated, "I've always said I want to win away in India. I want to win away in England". He is also eyeing another World Test Championship final. Australia will have the opportunity to tour India in a couple of years.

Lyon recently passed on the mantle of the team's song-master to wicketkeeper-batter Alex Carey. The song, "Underneath the Southern Cross", is a tradition started by Rod Marsh and passed on to Lyon by former Australia batter Michael Hussey. Lyon led the celebrations in 67 wins from 125 matches. He said that passing on the role "definitely doesn't mean I'm retiring anytime soon". He felt that Carey was the "perfect candidate" to take over the role. Lyon said he now wants to "sit back and take it all in".

Lyon's hunger for success remains undiminished as he looks forward to future challenges and the opportunity to add more silverware to his already impressive collection.
