Premier League giants Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly vying for the signature of Lyon winger Malick Fofana. The 20-year-old Belgian international has emerged as a hot prospect, with several top European clubs also expressing interest. Lyon have reportedly set a price tag of around £51.5 million (€60 million) for Fofana. However, some reports suggest that Lyon are seeking a fee in the region of €45-50 million. Some reports indicate they are hoping for a bidding war that could drive the price as high as €70 million.

Fofana, who primarily plays as a left winger, has impressed with his dribbling skills and attacking style. Last season, he scored 11 goals in all competitions, including six in 10 Europa League appearances. Fofana joined Lyon in January 2024 for a fee of €17 million plus €5 million in add-ons. He signed a contract until June 2028 with the French club.

Liverpool are closely monitoring Fofana as they look to bolster their attacking options. With uncertainty surrounding the future of Luis Diaz, Fofana is seen as a potential replacement. Liverpool's chief scout, Barry Hunter, is reportedly a huge admirer of the 20-year-old. New Liverpool manager Arne Slot is looking to refresh the squad for the upcoming campaign and sees Fofana as a player who could add depth and quality to their wide options.

Arsenal are also keeping tabs on Fofana as Mikel Arteta seeks to add attacking and creative players to his squad. The Belgian's goal-scoring and creating qualities have caught the eye of the Gunners' boss.

Chelsea are also reportedly interested in Fofana, with the club looking to add more firepower to their attack. With the expected signing of Jamie Gittens and the arrival of Liam Delap, Fofana could complete Chelsea's attacking unit.

However, competition for Fofana's signature is fierce. Nottingham Forest have reportedly reached an agreement with Lyon for the player. But Fofana is said to prefer a move to a Champions League club. Bayern Munich and Napoli have also been linked with the player.

Adding another layer to the speculation, Fofana was recently spotted training in a Manchester United shirt with Marcus Rashford's name on the back. This sparked rumors that he might be interested in a move to Old Trafford.

Lyon's financial situation could play a key role in Fofana's future. The club was recently provisionally relegated to the second tier due to poor finances. This could force them to sell some of their prized assets, including Fofana.

Fofana is a youth international for Belgium. He has represented his country at various levels, including the under-17 and under-21 teams. He received his first call-up to the senior Belgium squad in October 2024.
