The 2025 Brickyard 400 took place today, July 27, 2025, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This crown jewel event marks the 22nd race of the NASCAR Cup Series season and the second year the race has been held on the 2.5-mile oval after a three-year stint on the road course.
Chase Briscoe, driving the No. 19 Bass Pro Shops Toyota for Joe Gibbs Racing, captured the pole position with a top lap speed of 183.165 mph. Bubba Wallace started on the front row alongside Briscoe. Denny Hamlin had a strong practice session but suffered a crash in Turn 2 during qualifying.
Race Highlights
Chase Briscoe won Stage 1 of the Brickyard 400, holding off Bubba Wallace. Ryan Blaney won Stage 2, successfully keeping Kyle Larson behind him. During Stage 1, nearly all drivers pitted, with Carson Hocevar winning the race off pit road after a two-tire change. Ryan Preece led the start of Stage 2, as he was among the seven drivers who stayed out on the track during the stage break caution. The first caution flag was brought out on Lap 18 when Ross Chastain spun in Turn 3 after contact with Michael McDowell.
Ty Gibbs and Ty Dillon, were battling for the inaugural NASCAR In-Season Challenge crown, with the winner taking home $1 million.
