Lakshya Sen advanced to the second round of the Macau Open 2025, while HS Prannoy faced an early exit. Several other Indian players are participating in the BWF Super 300 tournament, which is taking place at the Macao East Asian Games Dome.

Lakshya Sen, seeded second in the men's singles, will begin his campaign against South Korea's Jeon Hyeok Jin. Sen is aiming to regain his form ahead of the World Championships after a difficult 2025 BWF World Tour season, with his best result being a quarter-final appearance at the All England Open in March. He has also experienced two second-round and six opening-round exits this season, including one at the China Open.

HS Prannoy, the 2023 World Championships bronze medalist, was looking to bounce back after a second-round exit at the China Open, but his Macau Open campaign was cut short. The details of his match were not immediately available.

Ayush Shetty progressed to the round of 16 with a straight-games victory over Huang Yu Kai of Chinese Taipei. Shetty, who is seeded seventh, won his maiden BWF World Tour title at the US Open last month. He will next face Justin Hoh of Malaysia.

In men's doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty progressed to the second round after defeating Malaysia's Low Hang Yee and Ng Eng Cheong. The Indian pair, who recently returned to the top 10 in the world rankings, won the match 21-13, 21-15. They will next face the Japanese duo of Kakeru Kumagai and Hiroki Nishi. However, the pair of Hariharan Amsakarunan and Ruban Kumar Rethinasabapathi lost to Japan's Tori Aizawa and Daisuke Sano. In an all-Indian men's doubles clash, Pruthvi Roy and K Sai Pratheek registered a victory over Dingku Singh Konthoujam and Amaan Mohammad.

In women's doubles, Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, the top-seeded Indian duo, were defeated by Lin Xiao Min and Peng Yu Wei of Chinese Taipei. The Chinese Taipei duo won the match 16-21, 22-20, 21-15. Priya Konjengbam and Shruti Mishra progressed to the pre-quarterfinals, while Apoorva Gahlawat and Sakshi Gahlawat crashed out.

In mixed doubles, Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto beat Thailand's Ratchapol Makkasasithorn and Nattamon Laisuan. Also, the mixed doubles pair of Thandrangini Hema Nagendra Babu and Priya Konjengbam won their respective match.

Several other Indian players are participating in the tournament, including Kiran George, Sathish Kumar Karunakaran, Tharun Mannepalli and Sankar Subramanian in men's singles, and Unnati Hooda, Rakshitha Sree Santhosh Ramraj, Anupama Upadhyaya, and Aakarshi Kashyap in women's singles.

Live streaming of the Macau Open 2025 badminton matches is available on the BWF TV YouTube channel in India.
