India concluded its campaign at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 in Gumi, South Korea, securing a total of 24 medals and finishing second in the medal tally behind China. The final day saw Indian athletes adding six more medals to their haul, including three silver and three bronze.

Sachin Yadav, competing in his first international tournament, made a significant mark by winning a silver medal in the men's javelin throw. The 25-year-old from Uttar Pradesh achieved a personal best of 85.16m with his final throw. He finished behind Pakistan's Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem, who won gold with a season-best throw of 86.40m. Another Indian javelin thrower, Yash Vir Singh, also performed admirably, finishing fifth with a personal best of 82.57m.

Parul Chaudhary continued her impressive run at the championships by clinching her second silver medal in the women's 5000m event. She clocked 15:15.33s to finish second, adding to the silver she had previously won in the 3000m steeplechase.

The women's 4x100m relay team also secured a silver medal with a season-best time of 43.86s. The team comprised Srabani Nanda, Abhinaya Rajarajan, Sneha SS, and Nithya Gandhe. China won the gold medal with a time of 43.28s, while Thailand secured the bronze with 44.26s. This achievement also secured the relay team's qualification for the World Athletics Championships to be held in Tokyo next year.

In other events, Animesh Kujur won a bronze medal in the men's 200m with a national record time of 20.32s. Pooja secured a bronze in the women's 800m with a personal best, and Vithya Ramraj won a bronze in the women's 400m hurdles.

India's overall performance at the Asian Athletics Championships 2025 included 8 gold, 10 silver, and 6 bronze medals. While the total medal count was slightly less than the 27 medals won in the previous edition, the country improved its gold medal tally from 6 to 8. Gulveer Singh was a standout performer, winning two gold medals in the men's 10,000m and 5,000m events. Other gold medalists included Avinash Sable in the men's 3000m steeplechase, Jyothi Yarraji in the women's 100m hurdles, Pooja in the women's high jump, and Nandini Agasara in the heptathlon. The mixed 4x400m relay team and the women's 4x400m relay team also won gold medals.
