In a move to revolutionize talent development and management, Hockey India (HI) has launched its Athlete Management System (AMS) for all levels. This digital platform is designed to monitor athlete development and manage tournament data across all age categories. The launch of the AMS is among several futuristic, athlete-centric e-reforms that HI has introduced.

The AMS serves two primary purposes: elite athlete tracking and grassroots talent identification. It features integration with wearable technology for data-driven performance tracking, injury and wellness monitoring, training scheduling, and a secure cloud database. The system includes comprehensive tools such as assessment systems, training load measurement, customized workout planning, coaching schedules, alerts, and video/media storage.

Among the key features of the AMS is the integration of wearable technology. The Indian men's and women's national teams, along with core group players, already use wristbands that track sleep patterns, stress levels, and recovery status to determine if they are sufficiently rested or at risk of overtraining. This feature will now be available to players outside the core group.

To further streamline administration, Hockey India has fully integrated with DigiLocker. This enables athletes to access all their certificates from the Hockey India National Championships, including those dating back to the past five years. This simplifies recordkeeping and aids players in college admissions, job applications, and other verification needs.

In addition to technological enhancements, Hockey India has expanded the Member Units Portal to district-level compliance. This move mandates that all state member units ensure their respective districts follow governance policies and registration protocols, bringing standardization and accountability to the grassroots level.

To mark National Sports Day, HI also launched digital ID cards for players. These cards simplify registration and verification processes, ensuring transparency and traceability across the domestic circuit. The ID cards are directly downloadable from the Hockey India Member Units Portal, providing easy access and reducing paperwork.

Further reinforcing its focus on athlete welfare, Hockey India has announced a grant of ₹2 lakhs to national team players who are currently unemployed.

These initiatives demonstrate Hockey India's commitment to modernizing its governance and promoting athlete development at all levels. The AMS, digital ID cards, DigiLocker integration, and expanded Member Units Portal are all designed to create a more efficient, transparent, and athlete-centric system.
