During the same podcast, Amla was asked which IPL franchise he would like to play for if given another opportunity. He mentioned Mumbai Indians (MI) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). He noted his experience coaching with MI in the South African League, stating that it is a "well-run unit" with "fantastic organization" and great logistics and planning. He also acknowledged CSK as a "fantastic franchise" and noted that it's "no surprise" they are two of the most successful IPL teams.
