Real Madrid's Club World Cup campaign has seen a mix of challenges and triumphs, with the latest news focusing on Kylian Mbappe's recovery from illness and the team's hard-fought victory over Pachuca. The Spanish giants are currently participating in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the United States.

Kylian Mbappe's health has been a major concern for Real Madrid fans and the team itself. The star forward was hospitalized earlier in the week in Miami with acute gastroenteritis and a fever, causing him to miss the opening game against Al-Hilal. Real Madrid confirmed Mbappe's return to the team's training base to continue his recovery, with expectations of a gradual return to team activities.

Real Madrid coach Xabi Alonso provided an optimistic update on Mbappe's condition after the team's 3-1 win over Pachuca. Alonso stated that Mbappe is improving daily and expressed increasing optimism about his potential return for the next match. It is anticipated that Mbappe will be available for selection against Salzburg on Thursday. Mbappe's presence has been sorely missed, especially after the unexpected 1-1 draw against Al Hilal. In Mbappe's absence, Real Madrid academy forward Gonzalo Garcia has stepped up, and even scored against Al Hilal.

Despite Mbappe's absence and Raul Asencio's early red card, Real Madrid managed to secure their first win of the tournament against Pachuca. The match, held in Charlotte, North Carolina, saw Real Madrid overcome a challenging start to beat the Mexican outfit 3-1. Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, and Fede Valverde scored the goals for Real Madrid, while Elias Montiel scored a late consolation goal for Pachuca.

The game was not without its tense moments. Real Madrid were reduced to 10 men after just seven minutes when Raul Asencio was sent off for a foul on Salomon Rondon. Pachuca pressed hard, creating several scoring opportunities, but Real Madrid's goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois proved to be a formidable presence, making multiple saves. Bellingham's opening goal came ten minutes before halftime, followed by Guler's strike just before the break, giving Real Madrid a comfortable lead. Valverde sealed the victory with a goal in the second half.

Looking ahead, Real Madrid needs only a draw against Salzburg to guarantee advancement to the knockout rounds. Coach Xabi Alonso is eager to have Mbappe back in the lineup, recognizing his importance to the team's success. The potential return of Mbappe would undoubtedly boost Real Madrid's chances as they aim to progress further in the Club World Cup.
