Danny Lauby, the Indiana-born darts player, is once again representing the United States at the US Darts Masters, held at Madison Square Garden. Lauby, who is 32 years old, is making his fourth appearance at this World Series event, with three of those appearances taking place in New York.

Despite his previous appearances, Lauby has yet to secure a victory on this stage, having faced tough opponents such as James Wade, Jonny Clayton, and Michael van Gerwen in the past. However, Lauby remains optimistic and is honored to represent the United States in front of a home crowd. In an interview, he expressed his excitement about being selected and the refreshing feeling of being back home.

Lauby recently whitewashed reigning champion Rob Cross 6-0 in the first round of the 2025 US Darts Masters. He averaged 94 and followed up an earlier 118 checkout with an 11-darter to close out the match. Lauby admitted that the win was "amazing". He stated that every win is difficult and he has not had a lot of stage experience this year, so there are nothing but positives. He acknowledged Rob Cross's skill but noted that Cross wasn't at his usual standard, which allowed Lauby to take advantage.

Currently based primarily in England, Lauby reflected on the challenges and triumphs of his career on the PDC Pro Tour, acknowledging the need for consistency. He admitted that the last eighteen months have been tough, with both good and bad moments, and that he knows he is capable of more. Despite the difficulties, Lauby remains confident and determined to improve. He recognizes the threat of the "drop zone" for those lower in the PDC Order of Merit but is committed to keeping his Tour Card alive.

Lauby affirmed his belief in his ability to succeed and stated that he would quit if he didn't think he could still compete. He acknowledged the sport's ability to be hard on players, but he is resilient and will continue to persevere. If he loses his status, he plans to attend Q-School to regain it. He emphasized that earning a PDC Tour Card is not easy, as he has failed several times in the past.

Lauby is also set to compete in the bet365 North American Darts Championship, aiming to secure spots in the World Darts Championship and Grand Slam of Darts while retaining his PDC Tour Card. He has expressed his determination to perform well in the North American Darts Championship for his ranking and to qualify for Ally Pally (Alexandra Palace), and also wants to make his supporters proud.

In the quarter-finals of the US Darts Masters, Lauby will face Luke Humphries.
