The 20-year-old winger has signed a long-term contract with the Blues, committing his future to the club until 2032. Chelsea's pursuit of Gittens comes after their decision not to permanently sign Jadon Sancho. Gittens had also attracted interest from Bayern Munich, but ultimately chose to move to Stamford Bridge. Gittens' journey in football has seen him spend time in the youth sectors of Reading, Chelsea and Manchester City before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2020. He made his professional debut for the German club in April 2022 and has since made 107 appearances.
Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest are also making moves to bolster their squad. Recent reports suggest they are closing in on signing Juventus duo Timothy Weah and Samuel Mbangula for €22 million. Forest have reportedly reached an agreement with Juventus for both players, although personal terms still need to be finalized. In addition to Weah and Mbangula, Nottingham Forest has reportedly completed the signing of Jair Cunha from Botafogo, with the defender signing a five-year contract. The transfer fee for Cunha is believed to be around €12 million.
In other news for the club, Neco Williams has signed a new deal with Nottingham Forest until 2029. Willy Boly has also signed a new one-year deal at Nottingham Forest. Tyler Bindon has joined Championship side Sheffield United on a season-long loan.
