Kelsey Plum has emerged as a significant challenge for the Indiana Fever, particularly when facing Caitlin Clark's team. Recent matchups highlight Plum's impactful performances against the Fever.

On July 2, 2024, Plum led the Las Vegas Aces to an 88-69 victory over the Indiana Fever, scoring a game-high 34 points in front of a crowd of 20,366 fans, the fifth-largest in WNBA history. A'ja Wilson contributed 28 points, and Jackie Young added 15 points and 10 assists, while Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever with 23 points, and Clark had 13 points and 11 assists. Plum's performance included 11-of-20 shooting, six rebounds, five assists, one steal, and six 3-pointers.

This wasn't an isolated event. Even with Clark sidelined due to injury, Plum continued her dominance against the Fever. On July 5, 2025, Plum led the Los Angeles Sparks to a win against the Fever.

Plum's history with the Aces is notable. Drafted first overall in 2017 by the San Antonio Stars (later the Las Vegas Aces), she played a crucial role in the Aces' consecutive WNBA championships in 2022 and 2023. In 2022, she earned her first All-WNBA First Team selection. That year, she averaged 20.2 points, 5.1 assists, and 2.7 rebounds, shooting 42% from three-point range and 46% from the field. She was named an All-Star and the All-Star Game MVP. In 2021, coming off the bench, Plum averaged 14.8 points, 3.6 assists and shot 38.6% from three.

In a three-team trade, Plum was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks for the 2025 season. In her first game against her former team, the Aces, on May 30, 2025, Plum scored 17 points. Despite the warm reception from Aces fans, her team lost 96-81.

After spending her entire WNBA career with the same franchise, Plum is adjusting to Los Angeles. As the Sparks' lead guard, she is averaging 25.2 points and 5.5 assists per game, shooting 43.4% from three-point range in her first six games.
