Arsenal are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyokeres, with multiple sources indicating significant progress in negotiations. The Gunners are keen to add a quality No. 9 to their squad this summer, and Gyokeres has emerged as a top priority.

According to reports, Arsenal and Gyokeres have already agreed on personal terms, with a proposed five-year contract on the table. The focus now is on finalizing a transfer fee with Sporting CP. While the exact figure is still under discussion, reports from Portugal and Sweden suggest the deal could be worth up to £69 million. Some reports indicate that Arsenal will pay €65 million (£56.1m) upfront with a further potential €15 million (£12.9m) in future bonuses. Negotiations are expected to continue to iron out the details of the payment structure.

Fabrizio Romano has stated that Arsenal are "getting closer" to signing Gyokeres following fresh talks. He added that "the here we go can come very soon" and that Gyokeres has informed Sporting CP about his agreement with Arsenal and his desire to join the club. "Gyokeres is ready, he wants to go to Arsenal. Now, club to club, the agreement is getting closer," Romano said.

The 27-year-old striker has been granted additional time off by Sporting CP, whose players are due to return for pre-season training. This decision has fueled speculation that a deal is imminent. It has also been reported that Gyokeres threatened to go on strike to push through a move.

Gyokeres has been linked with several top European clubs after an outstanding season with Sporting CP, where he scored 54 goals in 52 games in all competitions. His impressive performances include a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League.

Arsenal have also reportedly completed the signing of Martin Zubimendi and are planning a medical for Brentford midfielder Christian Norgaard. The Gunners are also interested in Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze, but face competition from Tottenham.
