India's commanding 336-run victory over England in the second Test at Edgbaston on July 6, 2025, was more than just a series-leveling event; it was a historic moment filled with record-breaking achievements. Led by Shubman Gill, India not only secured their first-ever Test win at Edgbaston but also etched their names in the record books with several monumental feats.

The victory itself was a record-breaker. India's 336-run margin of victory is now their largest in Test history, surpassing their previous best of 318 runs against the West Indies in North Sound in 2019. This win also marked the first time India has defeated England at Edgbaston in nine attempts, breaking a 58-year-old jinx. It is also the first time an Asian team has won a Test at Edgbaston since 1962, marking the longest wait for an Asian team to win at a venue outside the subcontinent.

Akash Deep's performance was another highlight of the Edgbaston Test. His match figures of 10 for 187 are now the best by an Indian bowler in a Test match in England, surpassing Chetan Sharma's 10 for 188 at the same venue in 1986. In the second innings, Deep took 6 wickets for 93 runs.

Shubman Gill also made his mark as the first Indian and Asian captain to win a Test at Edgbaston. Gill's individual performance was also remarkable, scoring 269 in the first innings and 161 in the second.

The Edgbaston Test was full of standout performances and shattered long-held records. This historic win not only leveled the series 1-1 but also marked a new era for the Indian cricket team.
