Arsenal are reportedly close to finalizing a £50 million deal for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, who is 23 years old. It's believed Arsenal have already agreed to personal terms with Madueke on a five-year contract. Direct talks between the two clubs are expected to take place soon to iron out the details.

Madueke's potential arrival at the Emirates Stadium has sparked mixed reactions. While some fans are excited about the prospect of adding the talented winger to their squad, others have expressed concerns, with over 2,500 signing a petition against the transfer. The petition highlights a sentiment that Arsenal could aim higher and that the move might not be the best way to capitalize on their current squad and recent successes.

Arsenal's interest in Madueke stems from their desire to add attacking reinforcements, particularly a versatile winger who can play on both the left and right flanks. Madueke fits this profile, offering Mikel Arteta tactical flexibility. He could provide valuable backup for Bukayo Saka on the right wing and also serve as an option on the left.

However, some question whether Madueke is the right fit for Arsenal. With Saka firmly established on the right, it remains to be seen where Madueke would fit into the starting lineup regularly. While he offers a good option to give Saka rest, some wonder if spending a significant amount on a player who may not always start is the best use of resources.

Chelsea reportedly value Madueke at over £50 million, referencing Newcastle's purchase of Anthony Elanga to justify their demands. Arsenal hopes to secure him for around £40 million. Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol suggests Chelsea may need to balance their books this summer, making them more open to accepting a bid from Arsenal for Madueke.

Arsenal are also reportedly interested in Real Madrid forward Rodrygo. However, Rodrygo could cost around £69 million, significantly more than Madueke. The club may choose Madueke if they are hesitant to wait for Rodrygo or pay his higher transfer fee. Other players who Arsenal are reportedly interested in are Sporting Lisbon's Viktor Gyokeres and Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze. If Arsenal signs multiple players, that could affect the Gunners' budget to buy two wingers.

Despite playing predominantly on the right wing for Chelsea, Enzo Maresca used him on the left in four of their last five Premier League games.
