Amad Diallo's confirmed absence from Man United's Brentford match: Exploring the reasons behind his missing trip.

Amad Diallo will be absent from Manchester United's Premier League match against Brentford due to a close family bereavement. Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has granted the 23-year-old winger compassionate leave, offering him all the time he needs to cope with his loss. The club has not yet confirmed how long Diallo will be away from the squad as he grieves with his family in the UK.

Amorim confirmed Diallo's absence during his pre-match press conference, stating, "Amad is not here because someone in his family passed away". He added, "We are giving all the support to Amad and understood he needed to return home". Amorim's remarks underscore the club's commitment to supporting Diallo during this difficult time.

Diallo has become an integral part of Manchester United's setup this season, playing in both attacking midfield and as a wing-back in Amorim's 3-4-2-1 formation. He has started in five of United's six matches across all competitions. His absence will be felt as United seek their first back-to-back win under Amorim.

In addition to Diallo, Manchester United will also be without Lisandro Martinez, who is a long-term absentee due to injury, and Casemiro, who is suspended following his red card against Chelsea. Noussair Mazraoui is also unavailable due to injury and is expected to be out until after the international break in October.

With Mazraoui also unavailable, Diogo Dalot is likely to return to the starting lineup at right wing-back. Dalot has recently recovered from an injury and resumed training on Thursday.

This has already been a difficult week for Amad, who recently removed all posts on his Instagram page, leaving only one on X (formerly Twitter), after receiving online abuse following a shirt swap with former teammate Alejandro Garnacho after the Chelsea game. Amorim commented on the situation, advising players to "shut down social media," acknowledging it as "a price you have to pay". He emphasized that "the club and his friends are real life for Amad" and reiterated the club's support.

Amorim also emphasized the importance of building momentum after a slow start to the season. He stated the team needs "the sense of urgency that we need to win, no matter what".
