Mumbai was painted blue as hometown hero Suryakumar Yadav, captain of the Indian cricket team, received a thunderous welcome at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Monday. The star cricketer's arrival followed India's impressive victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025 final in Dubai. Hundreds of fans flocked to the airport to greet Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya, who also received a warm reception.

Videos circulating on social media captured the scenes of jubilation as fans cheered, garlanded, and showered the cricketers with flower petals. The atmosphere was electric, with drums beating and chants of "Surya, Surya!" echoing through the airport. Yadav, visibly moved by the overwhelming support, acknowledged the crowd with folded hands and a beaming smile.

Yadav had earlier been spotted at the same airport on September 4, before departing to lead the Men in Blue in the Asia Cup. Before boarding his flight for the multi-nation tournament, he shared a hug with his wife, Devisha Shetty.

The Asia Cup victory was particularly sweet for Yadav, who led the team to a memorable five-wicket victory over arch-rivals Pakistan. His leadership and performance in the tournament have further cemented his place as a fan favorite and a key player in the Indian squad. Tilak Varma, who played a crucial role in the Asia Cup final, also received a grand welcome at Hyderabad airport.
