The Minnesota Wild secured a 3-2 victory against the Winnipeg Jets in their final home preseason game on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. The game, characterized by a veteran roster with a few rookies, saw Jesper Wallstedt in net for the Wild and Connor Hellebuyck tending goal for the Jets.

The Jets were quick to take the lead, with Cole Koepke scoring unassisted within the first five minutes of the opening period. However, the Wild responded later in the period when Matt Boldy spun around the defense and scored, assisted by Kirill Kaprizov and Jake Middleton, tying the game 1-1.

In the second period, Vladislav Namestnikov, assisted by Alex Iafflao and Logan Stanley, put the Jets ahead again. The Wild retaliated shortly after with a power-play goal from Kaprizov, assisted by Zeev Buium and Vladimir Tarasenko, leveling the score at 2-2. Late in the second, Marcus Foligno scored a shorthanded goal, unassisted, giving the Wild their first lead of the game at 3-2.

The third period saw no further scoring, although there were some close calls. The Wild managed to maintain their lead, ultimately winning the game 3-2.

Notably, earlier in the day, the Wild made headlines by signing their star player, Kirill Kaprizov, to an eight-year extension worth $136 million. Kaprizov was in the lineup against the Jets and contributed a goal and an assist.
