Champions League and Championship action unfolds: Barcelona vs. PSG, Monaco vs. Man City, plus live updates.

The UEFA Champions League is delivering high-stakes matchups early in the season, with Barcelona hosting Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco facing Manchester City on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

Barcelona vs. Paris Saint-Germain

The match between Barcelona and PSG is slated to kick off at 9 PM (19:00 GMT) at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys in Barcelona. Both teams are entering this fixture with a victory in their Champions League openers. Barcelona defeated Newcastle United 2-1 in an away game, while PSG thrashed Atalanta 4-0 at home.

The last time these two teams met was on April 16, 2024, when PSG produced a stunning comeback to beat Barcelona 4-1 away in the second leg of their Champions League quarterfinal, sealing a place in the last four with a 6-4 aggregate victory.

Hansi Flick, Barcelona's manager, has described PSG as "the best team in the world". Luis Enrique, PSG's manager and former Barcelona player and manager, said he's "happy to be back" at the club where he spent much of his career.

Both teams are facing injury challenges. Barcelona will be without Fermin Lopez, Joan Garcia, and Gavi. PSG is missing Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, and Marquinhos. Khvicha Kvaratskhelia's availability is also uncertain.

Monaco vs. Manchester City

Manchester City will play against Monaco at Stade Louis II, seeking their second straight win in Europe after defeating Napoli 2-0 in their opening match. Monaco lost their first Champions League match to Club Brugge 4-1.

The match is scheduled for an 8 PM kick-off. In the US, the match will start at 3 p.m. ET/ 12 p.m. PT.

Pep Guardiola has welcomed Rodri back into his squad after a knee issue. However, Rayan Cherki, Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Rayan Ait-Nouri are out.

Bernardo Silva is returning to Monaco, where he played for three seasons and won the 2016-17 Ligue 1 title before joining Manchester City.

These two teams played a memorable Champions League tie in 2017, which Monaco won on away goals after a 6-6 aggregate draw. Only John Stones and Bernardo Silva from those squads will be involved in tonight's game.
