Harry Kane remains firmly focused on achieving glory with Bayern Munich and leading England to success in the upcoming World Cup, but he isn't completely ruling out a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) later in his career. The England captain, who is currently under contract with Bayern Munich until 2027, has addressed speculation about potential transfers, including a return to the Premier League or a move to the United States.
Kane moved to Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in 2023 and has enjoyed considerable success. He has scored 103 goals in 106 appearances for the club, finally securing his first Bundesliga title in the 2024-25 season. Prior to his move to Germany, Kane established himself as Tottenham's all-time leading goalscorer and England's greatest marksman, with a record-shattering 74 goals for the Three Lions.
While rumors of a potential return to English football or a move to MLS continue to circulate, Kane has clarified his current position. He is content at Bayern Munich and not actively seeking a transfer. However, he acknowledged the possibility of considering MLS "later in my career when I am thinking about the last couple of years or so". He also stated that he is open to having "honest conversation" with Bayern regarding a contract extension, depending on their achievements in the coming years. His contract with Bayern is set to expire 12 months from next summer, and a buyout clause of £57 million ($77 million) is reportedly in place.
Kane's immediate priorities lie with Bayern Munich and the 2026 World Cup. He aims to add more trophies to his collection with Bayern and help England qualify for the World Cup. Kane has also expressed his ambition to win the Champions League and the World Cup, believing that achieving both would be "almost the perfect season" and boost his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or. In the 2025 Ballon d'Or rankings, Kane finished 13th after winning his first major trophy with Bayern.
Kane has previously expressed interest in trying his luck as a kicker in the NFL once his football career concludes. When asked about potential moves to England or the United States, Kane said: "I think MLS is too early for sure, the way I feel right now, the way I am playing right now". He remains focused on the present, aiming to continue his prolific form for both club and country.
