The West Indies won the toss and elected to bat, but their first innings folded for a mere 162, with Mohammed Siraj leading the Indian attack with 4 wickets. In response, India amassed 448/5 before declaring, establishing a formidable 286-run lead. Centuries from KL Rahul (100), Dhruv Jurel (125), and Ravindra Jadeja (104*) underpinned India's strong batting display.
Jadeja's outstanding contribution continued into the second innings, where he dismantled the West Indies batting lineup with his left-arm spin.
